- Deep-Rooted Tradition: Godhadi stitching is a family cultural practice, passed down through generations.
- Modernization vs. Preservation: While artisans adapt designs to current tastes, the cultural value is undervalued economically.
-
3. Economic Reality
- Low Income & High Costs: Godhadi work offers minimal earnings due to high material costs and limited market access.

Title: Eye tracking exploration on consumer food and health supplement attention and choice
PI: Dr. Aradhana Gandhi, Faculty in-charge-SCBS and Faculty-SIBM Pune
Project Highlights:
-
Study 1: Health Supplement Packaging and Consumer Behaviour
- Nutritional labels garnered the highest visual attention and directly influenced perceived healthiness and consumption intent, while laboratory testing labels had an indirect positive effect; product variant labels had negligible impact.
- Perceived healthiness acted as a key mediator between label design and behavioral intent.
-
Study 2: Food Waste Reduction in University Dining Halls
- Awareness campaigns effectively reduced food waste by activating moral norms and increasing cognitive engagement, with verbal messages outperforming pictorial ones.
- Food taste and moral responsibility strongly influenced behavioral intent, while plate size had no effect;
- Intention-behaviour gap observed; awareness campaigns mediated this gap, facilitating behavioural change.
-
Study 3: Menu Labelling and Healthier Food Choices
- Numeric and physical activity-based labels drew more attention, aiding informed dietary decisions, while traffic-light labels were least effective; labels acted as decision-making heuristics.
- Hedonic preferences and social settings often led to menu label disregard, highlighting contextual limitations in their effectiveness.
