WELCOME TO SCBS

The Symbiosis Centre for Behavioural Sciences (SCBS), founded with the vision of advancing the frontiers of behavioural research within Symbiosis International (Deemed University), is committed to promote a dynamic research ecosystem. It embraces a multidisciplinary approach to behavioural studies that seamlessly integrates diverse fields such as psychology, sociology, neurosciences, urban planning, policy nudges, and other related areas. This holistic perspective enables SCBS to analyse unconscious human behaviours and its application in various domains like marketing, economics, consumer behaviour, mental well-being, digital and financial inclusion, and influencing decision-making, driving innovative solutions and transformative insights. By employing qualitative, quantitative, and experimental research methodologies, SCBS seeks to facilitate data-driven interventions and bridge the gap between theory and practice, through collaborative endeavours.

Objectives and aims (not limited to):

  • Drive policy-oriented and translational research
    1. Securing external funding, attracting government and non-government grants (both Indian and International) and effectively implement research projects that drive meaningful societal impact.
  • Enhance research output and generate Indian population based scientific output in behaviour sciences
    1. Contribute to the global academic discourse by publishing high-impact research in top-tier, peer-reviewed national and international journals.
    2. Promoting interdisciplinary collaborations with academia, industry, and policymakers to bridge the gap between research and real-world applications.
  • Strengthen community engagement and grassroots impact - In line with SIU’s outreach goals
    1. Establish small research action groups to work closely with communities.
    2. Implement behavioural interventions and awareness programs to address local and national challenges.
  • Establish as a leading research hub in Behavioural Sciences
    1. The Centre will serve as a dynamic research and learning space where students, faculty, scientists, and experts in psychology, behavioural sciences, and neuroscience collaborate.
    2. Train graduate and postgraduate students in advanced research methodologies, analytical skills, and hands-on experience in psychological assessments and behavioural research techniques
